Hi fellow bloggers, no pics. today......collective sigh of relief. I just added a new site of interest, thanks to my friend Shirley over at Ride A Good Horse. If you aren't already aware of it go check it out. I don't often spend that much time on this machine so quite frequently I miss out on some good stuff. Thanks to Shirley though .....she keeps me plugged into the other world. Anyhow back to this new site......well new to me. This lady takes beautiful pictures and I love how she writes. She has a very nice blog, worth following. I will be checking this one out regularly. Thanks for the heads up on this one Shirley. Catch y'all later. Same place different time.

For the Dogs at our place
My dogs live here, they're here to stay, you don't like pets, be on your way
They share my home, my food, my space this is their home, this is their place.
You will find dog hair on the floor, they will alert you're at the door.
They may request a little pat, a simple 'no' will settle that.
It gripes me when I hear you say'just how is it you live this way?
They smell, they shed, they're in the way..' WHO ASKED YOU? is all I can say..
They love me more than anyone, my voice is like the rising sun.
They merely have to hear me say'C'mon , time to go and play'.
Then tails wag and faces grin, they bounce and hop and make a din.
They never say 'no time for you',they're always there, to GO and DO.
And if I'm sad? They're by my side and if I'm mad? they circle wide and if I laugh, they laugh with me they understand, they always see.
So once again, I say to you come visit me, but know this too..My dogs live here, they're here to stay.

New Home
Here's a post for Katie and Cricket. We had some people come look at the horses the other day. They liked both the young blue fillies. The people said they didn't know which one to take. So they took both. I was hoping to keep Cricket but I had to let her go.......how many times have I heard you can't keep them all....unfortunetly this is true. I will miss the little one though. It makes me happy that the girls got to go together. We delivered them to their new home and I am very pleased to say the new home looks nice and well cared for and so do all the other critters there. I wish the people good luck with both horses, I hope they both found permanent homes.
Cricket
This is not the pic I wanted of Cricket but I decided to keep it....is she not the cutest. Look at those eyebrows, boy did she change. That was then and this is now
Still not the pic. I was after but it will have to do. Anyhow I say good - bye to two very nice young horses. I know they will do well in their new homes. Well fellow bloggers that is it for this one. Good night and type at you soon.

Warmth
Hey fellow Horse Lovers this is for you. I'm sure we have all been here.
The Warmth Of A Horse
When your day seems out of balance and so many things go wrong ...When people fight around you and the clock drags on so long ...
When some folks act like children and fill you with remorse ...Go out into your pasture and wrap your arms around your horse.
His gentle breath enfolds you as he watches with those eyes ...He may not have a PhD but he is, oh so wise!
His head rests on your shoulder you hug him good and tight ...He puts your world in balance and makes it seem all right.
Your tears will soon stop flowing, the tension will be eased ...The nonsense has been lifted. You are quiet and at peace.
So when you need some balance from the stresses in your day ...
The therapy you really need is out there eating hay!

Cricket
Sorry for the not so good pics. This horse makes capturing her on film some kind of miracle. She is absolutely priceless, she will do these wonderful poses when there is no camera. The very second she sees you coming with one, bye- bye picture. I have stood out there for long periods of time waiting for her to forget I have a camera.......no such luck.
This shot was one of the better ones....believe it or not.....little brat. Here is an example of how unhappy she is when you almost get her. This picture started out being a very nice head shot. If she could stick her tongue out at you and do the na na na na na thing at me she would.
This shot is the one that made me laugh out loud, I guess you had to be here to see the humor in it. Cricket could not get her head away fast enough. This would have been a sweet pic. of her nuzzling her buddy. The picture doesn't really show it but she saw me coming and tried to turn her head away so fast that she actually bumped into Skook and couldn't quite get all the way turned around, so I snapped it anyhow. Well folks based on these pictures you can now see what I'm up against ....and why I don't have the greatest pics posted. Of course I can't blame it all on my subjects though, there is still the small matter of my own ineptness. Well that's it for this round. I have to go catch my Moxie horse and get some arena work done on her. She is going into unchartered territory on Sat (AKA unknown bush) I really don't want to be left in the dirt so I must go get a saddle on her. Later. Have a wonderful day where ever you are.

Visiting Dignitaries
I had the pleasure of having two Fjord's come for a visit. They stayed over night. I have to say that I don't know that much about them but you hear all the time how quiet they are. Well if I didn't love my Morgans so much I think I would switch to these guys. I am so impressed with their dispositions and how well they carry themselves. They were brought to our house put in a strange pasture( right beside a busy highway) and these are country horses. They didn't bat an eye, just started checking out the remnants of alfalfa and whatever else they could rustle up. They nickered a bit at the other horses but only after our horses kept insisting. These horses have the kindest, softest eye I have ever seen. I can now say from first hand experience that they are quiet and incredibly sweet natured. Talk about easy to catch and deal with. This is Chance. He is a real doll.
The second picture is Wiener, apparently there is a Snitzel at home in Creston. It was a distinct pleasure to have these two visit. They are very dignified and would be welcome back any time.

Flowers for Shirley
Shirley this was my favorite this year. I was worried it wouldn't fill out, you can't tell but there is a barrel under all that stuff. So much for the barrel. I had to dispose of it the other day almost broke my heart, it was still wanting to grow. This one was done for The Cranbrook Golf Club. It really was beautiful.

In Training
This is Moxie in training. She is a Purebred Morgan 4 yrs old. Moxie has 45 days professional training and I have been on her 4 times. I think I am getting to old for young horses, I sometimes forget that they just don't know. Moxie is doing well, she is smart and willing and has a desire to please. This horse could go in any direction it depends on what you choose. Moxie has a sweet nature and likes attention. I would also like to see this horse harness trained. I think she would make an awesome buggy horse as well as riding. She definitely has that Morgan presence and carries herself proudly. Moxie is a character, I guess if you had to describe her she would be the barnyard prankster. Well people I have chores to do so color me gone. I will do more follow up with Moxie. If you are interested in purchasing this mare leave a comment for me to get in contact or e - mail jltighe@msn.com

Hot Day in Paradise
Hey fellow bloggers, being as I am not a sun or heat seeker I'm not so sure about the paradise part more like holy -- double hockey sticks. Just when you think it's going to be nice and cool down a bit.......well like I said. Sorry no pics today. I did however figure out how to get my sales corral up and running, that was thanks to my friend Shirley over on ride a good horse( and boy does she)Anyhow I will get some more horses in there for you. I wanted to get on here because I just realized it has been quite awhile...don't want to lose you guys. I look forward to seeing where people are coming from. You guys rock, you are from all over the world, places I will never see and can barely imagine. I wish more of you would leave comments. I would love to hear about you and your countries. Do you have horses and if so what kind of challenges do you encounter. Do you have hay shortages and or things like West Nile etc. See so many questions and no answers. Please leave a comment. Well folks even though I can't go do anything with my critters I have books to do yuk. Blog at you later. Great job Shirley he looked really good!!!!!

By Request
I have been asked to post more pictures of Lily so here are a few....again I will apologize now, they are not that good. I just don't seem to be getting any better alas you will have to live with these. This is Lilies first time in the big pasture after getting a clean bill of health. Of course the ones where they went nuts and played like crazy did not turn out....bet you could have guessed that!!!!!
Lily is definitely going to be a very elegant young lady. I don't know that much about dressage but if this little girl gets tall enough she appears to have a natural style that would lend itself to that venue. She is a special baby, she has certainly beaten the odds so far.
These pics are a few weeks old now. I will try for some new ones. She is growing so much I can't get over the changes. It is a good thing she is quite co operative when you have to do things with her. I am not able to push her around as easily as I could so it is nice that she is halter broke and is willing to follow me around......I just love her. Anyhow must run stay tuned for more on Lily and horses for sale.

For Sale
Hey fellow bloggers. Here are some pics of Jake now 2 mths old and his Mom. This pair are for sale, together or individually. Jill is a nice Mare, she has come a long way in the time she has been here. She has lovely babies. Jake as you can see is built very well, I think he would make a great rope horse, you should see him put on the brakes and turn........ well he's got it all. Jake gets handled every day and is quite easy to deal with. At time of weaning he will pick up his feet- tie and know how to load. He is definitely going to be a Blue Roan. If you would like more info or pics. contact this blog in the comment section and I will get back to you. Stay tuned for more sale horses. Have a great evening.

Lily
Hey there fellow bloggers. Can anyone tell me why I have pictures on my camera but they don't show up in my Zoom browser so I can't get them onto this blog. Anyhow my news is so good I am going to post without pictures. I will take some new ones tomorrow and post. For those of you that may remember the saga of my filly Lily, the one that was born with so many problems.......yes that one. Well she went to the vet today for a check up and to get x- rays of her knees. With a much happier heart I am estatic to report she gets a clean bill of health. They didn't even take x- rays he told me to take her home she looks good. YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I don't have to make that awful decsision about what to do with her. Her mouth is good no monkey mouth, her contracted tendon no more, she has lovely legs....maybe not perfect but close. My lovely little girl is healthy and happy and growing and I am still grinning from ear to ear. Well guys I just had to get that out....what a relief, stay tuned for some pics of Lily and some horses for sale. Later, bed time morning comes way to fast.

I'm Back
Hi Guys. Sorry no postings for a bit there....very very busy, I barely touch the computer anymore. I think it makes it as happy as it does me. Anyhow today I'm going to show you pictures of some planters done for the Cranbrook Golf Club. These were put outside at the end of May. Then on the next blog I will show you some pictures of what they look like now. They are quite nice. It is amazing what some decent weather will do for them.

Jake
Jake already learning to bug the fences
Jake is bored and really trying to avoid the camera. Little brat does lots of neat things when I don't have the camera. They just seem to know.
Checking out the future baby sitter in the background.
Jake is a pretty boy and starting to get a lot friendlier. He sure is built, he is not even a month old yet. I will keep trying for better pics but theses critters sure don't make it easy. Later. Hey twice in one day not bad huh.

No Horses
Wendy's Custom Container
Matched set of Geraniums for sale oops mistake........it is pretty though, you should see it now it is quite amazing even if I say so myself. She will be very happy with it.
Lobelia for Shirley. I know you like the brilliant one but this year this one has gone crazy.

I have decided no horses today. My own won't let me get any decent pictures. And I have been out every day fixing the fence between our place and the neighbors, who have horses also.....but they want to live here. The people don't do anything to help with the fence and the one horse won't stay home. I believe in the expression that good fences make good neighbors so I think it is time they put some wire on their side of the posts and see if that makes any difference.....before we don't have a fence anymore. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying our horses don't contribute to some fence damage but I am out there fixing the fence when our animals haven't even been out there. The horses next door have broken two posts off and continue to lean out over the wire as far as they can. OK enough squaking....how about some pictures of flowers instead. In spite of the ugly cold rainy weather, here are some baskets in the greenhouse. These arn't all that recent so the ones that are still here are quite a bit bigger now. Anyhow I will try later with some babies. They are getting bigger and cuter. Lily is holding her own and is one of the sweetest little critters it is my pleasure to be around. later.

The Story of Lily
Hey guys, I'm back. Well I have a story to tell you. It's about my filly Lily. This poor foal has more strikes against her than I've ever encountered before. First she gets trampled and beat up by would be mothers. She has Monkey mouth, she had a contracted front tendon ...which has since been fixed and the good thing is she has great straight legs, although that may not make any difference as to her future. The vet says she has a slight case of Hyperthyroidism, she says normally they die or she recommends euthanising. You can see in one of these pictures the little girls knees, they are both swollen. She doesn't appear bothered by it. She has a healthy appetite she plays and is a very happy little thing. In three weeks she will go to the vet for x-rays of her knees. These x rays will show if the bones are growing properly...if they arn't, then I guess I have to make a decision about what to do with her. If she is going to have some quality of life then I guess she will be a lifer with me. I love her already and will give her a home with me until she dies or I do, whichever comes first. I have had the opportunity to have quite a few foals I have liked them all but this little filly is special there is something about her that is different. I feel she was given to me for a reason .....don't know what that would be but she really is a gift and one I will cherish even if ......don't even want to think it...... but even if she doesn't have a long life. Anyhow I don't want to type about this anymore, I am hoping the little darlin gets a good vet report and we will go from there. Sorry the pictures arn't to good, the little bugger won't stay far enough away to get a decent pic. The other day I managed to get a picture of her nostrils....that was nice. Anyhow stay tuned for some new pics of the colt, he is getting quite big and what a beauty.

Lily and Jake
Here are some
shots of Lily and Jake
I tried to type under the pictures to tell you a bit about the babies but it wasn't working, so you get what you get. The top 2 are Lily and the bottom 2 are Jake. Lily is very girly and sweet. Jake is all boy and typical of boys, a real brat. The mares are getting better about being so close. I am going to give them some more time and then they will get moved into the same pasture. I spend time in the pen with Jill and Jake everyday and she has gotten a lot better, not running away. Jake is getting more interested in what I am up to and gets closer, I have been able to pet him a few times. I will keep plugging away at it. Lily on the other hand is easy and fairly manageable. Well enough baby talk, I could go on all day. I have to get moving, lots and lots to do. Later have a great day.

Lilly
I have decided to name the wanted one Lilly. Don't ask me why because I don't know. It just kind of popped into my head. She's a nosy little thing and has to check out everything.
After roaming around and nosing into everything she can find she has decided to take a nap, after all being a baby is a hard job. Right after the big yawn she just dropped to the ground and that was that.

Mares and Foals
Well calm at last, maybe I shouldn't say that, Murphy's law and all. anyhow to continue the story of Jade and Jill. Jade is now relaxed and very happy with her baby, which by the way is the sweetest little filly ever.......of course I'm biased, she really is a doll though. Jade foaled in the wee hours of Thurs. morning. After the big war Jill ran around all day acting crazy. Late afternoon she had calmed down considerably. In the wee hours of Fri. morning Jill had her own baby a black colt that is going to be a blue roan, he already has the white hairs around his flanks. Everyone seems healthy and happy, they all have their right moms. The mares are now penned across from each other, they are allowing themselves to get a little closer every day. I guess they aren't mad at each other any more.....well not as mad. So here are some baby photos they look like twins. The filly is 1/2 morgan and 1/2 Canadian. The colt is part Percheron, Quarter/ and a little Mustang. At this point they look like they came from the same parents it is uncanny. The looks will change with age. The two top pics are the filly....can't think of a name yet. and the two bottom pics are the colt. Anyhow that's it for today. I have to go open up the Greenhouse before everything starts to wilt. Have a great day guys. Later.

Wanted
Well I had an interesting morning.
For those that don't know, I have
been waiting for one of my mares to foal.
Last night early morning one of them did.
I looked out there this morning and saw
the mare, and no baby. So I went about
my business, got a phone call and while
talking on the phone looked out again and
there was baby. I went out to check to see if everything was ok, the mom was not
very nice and also didn't seem happy
didn't want me around..... too bad though
I got right in there and was petting baby
and she was nickering away. After watching
them for awhile I began to notice that things
weren't quite right, the other mare was
extremely upset, she was running around crying and just totally out of character. I think she thought I was going to help her in some way. As soon as I got near the baby she came running over and then Jill decided she was going to hurt her.I noticed then that it looked like Jade had foaled and not the other mare. Jill stole her baby from her and everytime she tried to get near her Jill would attack. Anyhow I can't get into all the details or we will be here all day, suffice it to say Baby Wanted is with the right mother now and both appear to be doing well. Jade is still quite upset and jumpy, can't say I blame her, that blue..... layed a pretty bad beating on her. She didn't give up that baby without a fight. Funny thing is though, until Baby came Jade was the boss of Jill. Anyhow I managed to get the foal in the barn, Jill almost killed me in the process I put Jade with the foal and then ran around opening and closing gates until I got the she devil away from the barn. That is one scary horse. I hope she doesn't have issues when she foals cause I think I will be staying my distance for a bit. Not really, isn't a mare out there that is going to keep me from the foal.....but I'm not kidding......... S C A R Y !!!!! Well maybe now she will have her own baby. The way she's running around out there who knows? Well enough excitement for me. I have to go check and make sure everyone is where they are supposed to be.

Color for Shirley

Spring is here so they say.
Who is they anyhow,
I've always wondered.I am still
heating the Greenhouse.
I need to be able to
put stuff out because
I am out of room.
Anyhow I know how much
you like flowers hope
I brightened up your day. Alright you guys I know
it looks stupid. I tried to get it right and lost all my pics,
so what you see is what you get. Later.

How Much Longer
This is Jade and Jill. The two prego's.
Neither of these two really wanted their picture taken. Boy it sure doesn't help, when one isn't that great with a camera to begin with and then your subjects don't help. Anyhow these two are not happy being in foal. The Roan is due any day and I don't think she can get any bigger. She tried to run today( chuckle) her tail was flagged and she was a high steppin it......it just all looked a little awkward and in s...l...o...wwww motion, she thought she was pretty hot though (chuckle) and Jade well she really hates being pregnant and she lets me know everytime she sees me with a camera.
Well I will keep tryin for better pictures but I wouldn't hold my breath. later. Happy Mother's Day Mom's. Later.
