Puppy Play

This is Dave's pup Tucker and my dog Sage. Sage is the Collie. Tucker thinks everything is fun and his own personal toy. Sage is still not sure that it is a great idea to have him around. Quite frequently you can catch her curling her lips up at him and when he's in the house her expression is rather baleful..... however she does have her moments of acceptence, in these pics she has decided to put her jelousy aside and have a bit of fun. Sage has her moments of puppiness as well, it gives me a lot of pleasure to watch the critters at play.

Here Comes The Sun

It was such a brisk sunny day it inspired me to do another post.I wanted to show you that yes indeed we do get sunshine here. It is not always as dismal as my friends pictures showed it to be the other day. After almost 2 weeks of dismal the sun came out in all it's glory it is so bright out there you can hardly see. Along with the sun came some very unwelcome cold, we have been sitting at about -10 C for a few weeks now. Brrrrrrrrrr. this morning was -21 C. I think it is a fair trade so that we see sunshine. These pictures are from the front porch hey I haven't seen that view for some time. I hope it stays for awhile.

Sunrise

I took this picture a couple of weeks ago, it didn't look that great on the camera so I didn't do anything with it. I also had no idea that we wouldn't see another sunrise for almost 2 weeks. Being as it was so gray and dismal for so long, even a bad picture would have been worth putting on the blog.......something to look at with some color!!!!!!! This is exactly what the sunrise looked like that morning it has not been enhanced at all. This was the view off our front porch, I was trying to get around the trees but I'm glad I couldn't ...they look kind of neat in there.
So I must say thank you to Shirley from Ride a Good Horse. Shirley and Ted came for a visit from Alberta and she was helping me figure out my camera. We downloaded a bunch of pics off my camera and discovered this one was not bad. Actually for me it's pretty darn good cause as anyone who follows this blog knows it is infrequent that you see good shots. Anyhow no more bragging, suffice it to say I am quite pleased with the outcome of this shot. Have a great day to all and by the way the sun is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ya Hooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tucker

This is Tucker, he is Dave's new best friend. He came at the beginning of December and has already endeared himself to almost all of the pre-existing occupants. Tucker has doubled in size since his arrival, I think he will be a rather large addition to the family.
He already enjoys coming to do chores. He is learning to ride in the Quad cart. He is really cute ......
Tucker is a Purebred Yellow Lab. He is very intelligent and learns fast. Dave will be using him as a pack dog on his many trips into the mountains. They are already becoming a good team.

All that Jazz

Good morning, meet Jazz. This is a Pot - Bellied pig that belongs to some friends of ours. Jazz and friends live in Salmo BC. Look at all that green grass......for those of you that follow this blog and live in very different parts of the world that grass is very much covered in snow right now and lots of it. Anyhow I digress the point of my story is this. Dave and I managed to sneak away for an overnight trip to visit our friends in Salmo. After we had been there for awhile Gail told us we would be sleeping in their bedroom. I felt bad about taking their bed........ that is until Gail said why we had to take their room. If you look at the second picture you will see Jazz the pig on the couch, this is where the little beauty sleeps at night. Brian and Gail don't have a spare room so they spread out a foam and slept in the living room Yes with the pig!!!!!!!!!!. Gail tells me she is quite sweet but from all the grunting and groaning that was going on I'm not so sure. I remember Jazz when she was just a little piglet and they brought her with them for a visit. She stayed in our house too but then she was tiny " v e r y cute" and slept in a dog kennel ......... a small one. Boy did she grow up. Anyhow I don't think I would let a pig sleep on my couch but they love her and it works for them. By the way in case your wondering she is extremely clean and doesn't smell at all. Maybe we should trade in our dogs and get a Jazz?????

This is Moxie, purebred Morgan mare she is for sale. This picture was taken in the Fall/08. Moxie will be 5 in the Spring, she is well started and ready to go. She is a people please- er .I would like to see Moxie go to a multi purpose home. She is really good in the bush but I think she would make a great buggy horse as well. Moxie has great knee action and carries herself like a buggy horse, she would look great in parades pulling a Doctor's buggy or something like it. She is going to be a multi purpose horse. Moxie is really worth taking a look at. Anyone interested can reach me here in the comments section or e- mail me @ jltighe@msn.com

New Blogger

Hey out there. I won't have time to do this in the morning so decided to do 2 in one day. I just wanted to tell you about a new blogger. Her site www.prairie - ridge.blogspot.com or you can just go into my links and click on All the Pretty Horses. Carol has lovely horses and a warm , funny personality. I look forward to following her blog, I'm sure it will be interesting and you will probably get to see some really nice horses. Go have a look. Later. Have a good day.

Snow Funnel

This is the neighbors barn, after the warm temps of yesterday and today and a bit of rain the snow coming off the roof turned into a funnel in mid air. I thought it was kind of cool how it just hung there like that. We over on our own side didn't have such an interesting sight when we got up this morning, what we did have was about three feet of snow blocking in our vehicles. The snow we have accumulated on our roof so far this winter, decided to come down all at once what a mess. Anyhow most of it is cleaned up but there is still some to do so must run. Catch ya all later. Have a great day.

Snow .........Snow ......Snow

It's a snow removal day. This is Dave's version of how to get snow off the roofs of buildings, it works pretty well at that.

It was definitely time to get rid of some of the snow .It was getting quite deep. Last year a lot of the snow slid off on it's own but this year it is staying put. My theory on the snow not sliding this year is that when it got really cold it froze it in place now it can't let go. Well I did say a theory!!!!
Last year it seemed like every time I went out in the morning my truck was blocked in by a wall of snow, not so this year. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining I don't mind not having to dig out my vehicle every morning.
