Flower Baskets

Here is a tour around the Cranbrook Golf Course, well not the course just some of their flower baskets. I did a post sometime back in April or beginning of May for Shirley over at Ride A Good Horse to show her what the CGC baskets looked like at that time. So here's an update on those baskets.

While I was cruising around taking pics I came across this interesting specimen.

I still haven't figured out if he's relaxing after a tiring 18 holes or if he just got tired of waiting. Whatever the case maybe he looks pretty comfortable.

That's it I have to go, I could do this all day but I owe Iowe it's off to work I go. Catch you all later and have a really nice day.

Sunday Challenge"Nuts"

Ok I know cop out. We don't have any nut trees here so waiting for a bird or squirrel pic ain't gonna happen.........even if we had that kind of stuff the chances of me pulling that off are slim to none. I thought this was better than nothing. Maybe I will find something else before Sunday???
Mmmmm!!!!!!I liked trying for this pic. Sorry it's a bit fuzzy....must be from all the chewing.
Hmmmm maybe I should go see some of the farm animals around the area and see if there are some of those attached nuts.....you know what I mean........ there are none on this farm.

New Trailer

Dave went a while back and bought a 2 horse trailer for me. It was a well done home made trailer. I was very excited to have my own trailer and thought I would be running around all over the place exploring new places to ride. The first time out I got a flat tire, I started to get paranoid about my horse getting loose in there and thinking it would be a good idea to leave. (half doors)I know it sounds unreasonable but I really was afraid of the silly thing. I have hauled horses around for years and in some pretty strange rigs but I have never been afraid to do so. On top of not wanting to use the trailer my little herd .....and myself have been spoiled by the use of a large stock trailer so loading was an issue.....not one I wanted to get into, thus the sale of the little trailer. Enter the new trailer. Dave has a friend that lives just down the road, he has been asking him for years if he wants to sell his trailer....he's never given him an answer. The other day we went over there and Dave asked him again and this time we got a yes out of him. So long story........shorter this is the new trailer.

As you can see it needs some work, the first thing we did was obvious.....rims and tires, then we hauled it out of it's hole.
Dave then hauled it home and we took the pressure washer to it...bye ...bye Lichen.

So this is where we are at now. Dave still has some stuff to work out and then.........wahoo I can't wait to try it out. I know it needs a paint job and most likely other stuff too but I'm so excited this trailer should last me a long time. The trailer is 21 years old it has spent the last 5 yrs hiding in the back forty and it has less than 1000 miles on it. Bonus.!!!!!!!!! Anyhow guys that's it for my rambling gotta run. Later. Have a great day.

The Last Installment Galbraith (Really)

This is Dave riding Buster and leading Skookum, can you see the muzzle, this horse chews on everything.I think if Dave took that thing off Buster would probably have to fend him off.

Well fellow bloggers this really is the end of the Scenic ride. i hope I didn't bore you. It really is quite lovely out there. I've lived here for almost 13 years and didn't know Galbraith was just a hop skip and jump away, but now that I do there may be more pics at a later date, maybe there will be some of Shirley and Beamer from Ride A Good Horse she doesn't live to far away anymore so just maybe we will get in an overnighter. Well gotta go past choretime.

Part 3 Scenic Ride.

This is the final installment on the trip to Galbraith. This is the camping area, corral it is really a nice set up. I want to go back and do an overnighter. So I'm going to put up a few more pics with no commentary as it is getting late and I need to be in bed. I hope you enjoy the scenery.
Ok I lied this isn't the last installment. I think I will add some more tomorrow, it's just so pretty out there.

Part 2 Scenic Ride

This is another shot at the Outfitters. It was a gorgeous day. We sat at the camp for awhile and listened to the creek and watched a group of Whitetail Deer grazing. The deer weren't very frightened of us, we rode through them to cross the creek they didn't seem concerned.
This is Indy relaxing in the shade having what he thinks is a well deserved rest.......trust me he didn't have to work very hard to get here. These two couldn't care less about rest, I think these draft cross horses are only concerned with filling their bellies it's about all they do eat...eat....eat.
Well guys that's it for this installment I have to go to bed. You'll just have to follow along if you want to see more. Have a good - night

Scenic Ride

A bunch of people from the Back Country Horseman went out to a place called Gailbraith, to camp and ride. I had to work so I went out Sat. after work and managed to get a ride in. the scenery was really beautiful. I also thought it would be a great place to get pics of Wildflowers. I managed to get a few but a lot of the flowers were repetitive. I never noticed that many of the flowers on the way out there. I have never been out there before and it is a good idea to keep your eyes on the road and not so much sightseeing. The road is quite narrow in spots and there were a lot of places where you wouldn't want to be off the road. On the drive back I was noticing all kinds of Wildflowers and was thinking I would take pics as I was driving.......not.... very bad idea. I didn't go off the road but I got my heart to racing a couple of times, so I decided I was definitely going to make it back out there to get some more pics. I saw flowers I have never seen before. I'm going to have to go get a book on Wildflowers so I can name them ,very pretty. I was impressed by the camping area. The (BCH) have been out there maintaining the grounds and the road. They have a very nice big corral right by the creek, there is a barrel there to fill with water for the horses.....they even have a user friendly outhouse. I was quite surprised by the amount of people using the area. Along the roadway out there, there are some nice spots on the creek, people camped all along there. People were fishing and quading everywhere.

These next few shots are of an Outfitters camp. It is so nice out there I wanted to stay. This place is what inspired the shot of Sage in the Buttercups. Well I'm going to have to post this outing in stages. My computer is having issues. It has taken a couple of hours to get these few pics. I will try again tomorrow.

Sunday Challenge ( Wildflowers)

Well as usual I left it too long and I didn't get many pics. Not that I didn't have a lot of opportunities because I did. Iwill be doing a new post on Mon. and I will tell you about my missed chances. For now this is all I have. We went out the one of the nicest places you can camp and ride at. Wildflowers everywhere. So here are some of the ones I got. You wouldn't believe the ones I missed . I'm going to be returning to that place.

Anyhow fellow bloggers I'm done, I need to go lie down. I expect to see some great stuff from you guys. Hope this thing does what it's supposed to, I haven't been able to get it to yet. I'm trying to Auto Post once again. Well here I go ......Just press the button.....ya right.
