The Lights Before Christmas

These are some of the lights displayed in Cranbrook's downtown Park. The rest are from Candy Cane Lane.

It amazes me the work people go to to have the light show they put on. Also the whole cul de sac participation. As much as I find all the decorations amazing I also think it's a bit over the top as well. The yard that held this horse and carriage would have been very pretty except that they didn't know when to quit.

Some of the decorations are so cute, I'm not sure what they have to do with Christmas but they are cute. What does a demolition( or race car) have to do with Christmas. Am I missing something? OK the Bear and Penquins ....... cute.

For those of you that may not go on your computers on Christmas day. I wish you a wonderful day, with your family and friends. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

lol! A little excess, I agree. I do love Christmas lights, but some houses decorate like a yard sale.
There is a blog called something like Crazy Christmas lights or something like that and it posts photos of over-the-top and wacky decorated yards from all over the country.

It's shocking how far people will go sometimes. And like you said, some decor doesn't even fit the Christmas or winter theme at all.

Those are wonderful photographs. I always have trouble taking photos at night. The carriage is really cool. I also like the ski mountain with the chateau.
