We Say Good - Bye To Lily

Well it is with a bit of a sad heart that I say good- bye to Lily. At one time I decided Lily would stay with me but for whatever reason I'm just not that attached to her. Lily has found a wonderful home where she will be well cared for loved and eventually have a job. The lady S is a horse person and would like to train Lily to do a multitude of things some of which will be of the English persuasion. I think Lily will be great at whatever they do with her.
It was a muddy and wet Sunday morning so I had Lily in the barn to eat and dry out, she needed grooming before she could be loaded.

Her best friend had to come and see what was happening he was very concerned about her being in the barn, at every opportunity you could see his head poking in to observe.

Lily is quite popular with all the other horses and so has a lot of friends, most of which came to wish her farewell.

Lily loaded well and travelled pretty good too. I didn't get any pics of all this part because I didn't want to push my luck. the other horse people out there know what I'm talking about....when dealing with horses ......well heck any time you have a plan and you are on a schedule you know how fast things can unravel.....so it was in the trailer out of the trailer.
That's my girl she looked around for oh about 2 seconds saw the food and was immersed. She won her new owners over quickly with her calm sweet disposition. After a bit she wandered around looking at stuff and the other horses.

So this is where my girl will start the next chapter of her life and become a part of someone else's family. I was really proud of myself ....I didn't cry.......don't worry Gail I got a little misty typing this.( Hey I'm probably a little hormonal... it's allowed) I do not regret the sale though because I know she found the right place and they will do much more with her than I would have.

She's a sweety, glad you found a good home for her. Looks like a nice set-up.

Looks like she has a good new home. Always kinda sad when one leaves, even if its for the better.

It's good to know that you made sure she was going to a home that will give her all the love and care she deserves. I am incapable of selling anything because of strong attachments. It can't be easy. She's a beautiful girl.

I always wonder about horses going to new homes after they've been somewhere for a while or a long time...
One of the reasons I could never be a public trainer, or horse trader. it's always makes you feel better when you know they go to a good home.
and horses probably handle it a lot better than we do anyway.
