Nitro's Arrival

Hey guys before I even get into this post I am going to vent first. Blogger can take their new look,  format and shove it up their ass...and that's about as polite as I can get. I have better things to do with my time than sit here and have to repeat things over and over to get what I want. I'm a firm believer in if it ain't broke don't fix it. If it is going to be this difficult to post all the time I think I will be posting even less often if at all....way to go Dumb #U##S!!!!!!!!( Sorry if you're offended but it is my space)OK I'm done.... well that feels better on with the post.
As most of you must know by now, Shirley over at Ride A Good Horse has sold her youngster Nitro and he will be residing here at Own a Morgan....(you know what I mean)  Most of us know or have had experiences with youngsters...as is their way they tend to try to commit suicide for a good part of their youth ( which really sucks and causes their humans to feel ill for months on end) I believe the new owner of Nitro is in for a crash course on said behavior, she has no experience with youngsters so I have to say my heart goes out to her (I have been in that breathstopping heartgrabbing moment more than once)...... and to prove my point Nitro made sure upon his arrival that his new human is going to experience a few many sleepless nights. I was not here when Nitro arrived so I phoned his new owner( I'm sure she won't mind if I use her name ) to make sure everything was ok. Veronica ( new owner) said everything was fine he was a lot calmer about all the new stuff than she had expected....good deal. Dave and I returned home pre - dark  maybe around 7:30 ish.Unfortunately Nitro nor Veronica heard us come in. We proceeded to do what we always do...we let the dogs out...first mistake( Nitro is used to dogs...but probably not three strange dogs running full tilt in his direction......big bad baby eating monsters!!!!!!!)Veronica's truck (big - sight obstructing) was parked right in front of Nitro's pen..... second mistake.... so I come around one side Dave's on the other....don't forget the baby eating monsters fast closing in.......and I think a sensory explosion finally erupted in the little guys brain and it was all too much. Big trailer ride alone, new surroundings with every horse in the neighborhood heralding his arrival, new pen, new friend, new human and then us... the final straw.....off went Nitro totally living up to his name he did a turn and burn that would put most barrel racers to shame....the bad part of that is he is now in a really small pen with no room for that kind of stuff. As soon as he took off  I knew .... my response was OH SHIT!!!!!he hit that fence and quite luckily did not do a somersalt directly over it....instead he got just airborne enough that he hit it and kind of slid along the section sideways befor he flipped over it and onto the ground....fortunately he got up quickly and decided his safest course of action was to get back where he came from.  I got over to him first and opened the gate so he could come through  but he was so scared and shaky he wasn't to sure what he was supposed to do. Veronica got there with his halter and got him back into his pen. He scared himself big time which  I think is a good thing, he now knows he doesn't want to do it again and there are boundaries. He scraped a bit of hair off here and there but otherwise appears to be fine....however I fear Veronica will be scarred for life.So big adventure for the little gaffer....and his human.
Nitro is actually quite sensible he takes most things in stride and takes the time to analyze before reacting....I think this will be his normal behavior and he will refrain from repeating his debut. I don't know if you can see in the pic or not, even though he is settling in well, he is exhausted. You can see if you look close that his neck is right on that board...basically it's the only thing holding him up.He was so tired on Mon. that everytime he walked around he would run into stuff. This morning he seems more rested...his eyes are clearer and he's not running into anything. When I get a good pic of him and his sister I will post on it....she is hilarius. Sorry for any spelling errors but I can't get to my spell check and I'm just not as good as I used to be. Can anyone tell me how to make the NEW STUPID harder to use blogger fit the page so I have access to all my tools. It is probaly something so easy that it shows how stupid I am. Maybe me and the new blogger were made for each other after all. That's it I'm outta here stuff to do. Later

Poor li'l guy! But you are right that he's a smart one and probably won't do that again. And ya know you can't sleep when there's monsters! But it'll all be fine, I'm so glad he's at your place.
I really dislike the new blogger too, as soon as I had to start using it I KNEW you'd hate it. When you come over this weekend we'll go over some of it's (finer) points.

Had to pop over and see how Nitro was doing. that must have been a heart-stopping experience! I'm sure he'll settle down soon. For the record, I don't like the new Blogger either. I'm pretty adverse to change when things were working fine the way it was!!

Poor Nitro scared half to death..glad he is okay..and I hope he sleeps soon..what a big adventure for him.
I got tired of blogger..I write everything in Live Writer which is a free download...it is easy peasy if you have a PC. It will not work with a Mac.
New and improved is not always better:(

Oh, I understand that torture that owners are put through by their animals. I'm glad Nitro is OK. Poor, little guy, so much to learn!

I came over to check on Nitro, too. Poor thing. Yes, the youngsters are always looking for ways to hurt themselves. I've been there. The vet and I were close friends.

I bet he misses his family, the best thing to do with blogger is ditch it and switch to wordpress..:-)
