Sunday Stills " In Your Hand"

Well Ed this is a good one, the only thing I could think of to do was a pic of a horse hoof but I just never got around to getting the pic. I wasn't going to do anything .....then my Kali dog decided she wanted in on todays challenge....so this is what I got.


How could anyone say no to that face. She decided one pic wasn't enough so one more for good measure.

Sunday Stills On A Monday ' Blue'

Well here I am... a day late as usual I would have been here on Sun. but I was having technical difficulties ##!!**##!!!**#### So the challenge this week was Blue, Ed said to be a bit more creative than a Blue Sky so this is what I came up with...not so sure how creative but it is what was on hand.
 My Bandana pulled out for riding in the - temps...so nice keeping your neck warm.


Well this one needs no explanation.




And the last one is for you Ed....how about a painted blue sky....sorry I couldn't resist...if it made you smile my work here is done!!!!

It's That Time Of Year - Sadly

Well I finally made it back....and it didn't take long to figure out why I've been gone so long. As many of you know ....mostly because I've bitched about it it a bit....well Ok a lot!!!! I'm not that great with techno crap and having crap doesn't help either.....anyhow if this works after my second attempt you will be privy to some photos of our first real winter storm....well the end result anyhow....aren't we lucky we only have 6 or so more months to go yeehaw!!!!!











Well there you go, I think it worked ....I guess I'm going to find out in just one second. For those of you that like snow, enjoy and for the rest of you that are like me and don't like snow.... go over to Ride A Good Horse and look at "The Man"rolling in the dust. Anyhow y'all stay safe.

Sunday Stills "Fruits And Vegetables"

Good one Ed, this is how I get my daily vitamins. you probably can't tell from the pics. The foliage in the cup is Spinach...that's a veggie isn't it...you sure couldn't get me to eat that cooked!!Well I tried for some other Veggies ..you know staples,Broccali - Cauliflour a nice English cuc but I think my little camera really has crashed and burned this time so we'll just take what I got before it took it's swan dive.

Sunday Stills " Sunrises/Sunsets...With A Building"

Well now this was a whole lot tougher than I thought it was going to be ....way to go Ed.
It has been some time since we've had any color in the sky at Sunrise but there was a bit this morning, sadly it is so dark where the buildings are that you can hardly see them. I couldn't figure out how to  fix that .....soooo this is it. Anyhow East - Sunrise right......you'll see where I'm going with this.If you highlight the pic you can actually see the buildings... (they say there's more than one way to skin a cat)....who came up with that expression???





So east again.... Sunset. I know how stupid that sounds but in this particular spot that is exactly what I get. These two pics were taken at about 6:00 pm Sat. the sun just about gone. The sun had been gone in the West for about an hour already....go figure.....hey confused yet!!!! You should try living here.
Again..if you highlight the pic you will see a building or two.






Well Ed I tried...very hard to get this one...I'm not feeling overly triumphant....but I'll bet there's some excellent ones out there . I'm off to check you all out.

Sunday Challenge "Circles"

Today's Challenge is Circles...they are everywhere, some more prominent then others but there nonetheless.

Cody!! Cody!! What to do with Cody???

Well I am posting this today because my arsenal is empty. As some of you know I brought home a Morgan colt at the end of Dec.
( still waiting for parts-  to geld)


He is mostly a nice fellow however now that he has been here for awhile I am finding things I really don't like about him. Cody is a chewer he is like the kid that puts everything up his nose...only in this case he puts everything in his mouth ...including me, he is chewing the crap out of the fences.  Cody treats me like I'm another horse he continually tries to bite and shove into me ....just how he is with Jazz...he totally does not get the human... I'm the boss thing...at this point he is not biting to be mean and he has not actually got a hold of any skin...yet.....but you can't turn your back on him, he has managed to grasp my coat sleeve a few times but I'm usually prepared for him.  Cody has the attention span of a gnat ....or who knows maybe a gnat has more than him....whatever he is becoming a pain in my ass. I don't have the time or patience to play along with him.... I need him to get with the program.Cody is good for haltering and leading......well mostly, he no longer tries to eat the halter when it goes on...he has no problem accepting it. When leading he spends all his time trying to get the lead rope in his mouth so there is a lot of head tossing and other strange things ....in an attempt to get it into his mouth.... also trying to bite the other horse thus making it a pain to get from point A to B. I have tried everything I know to change his behavior ...to no avail. In an attempt to stay off his head I have resorted to this.




Cody accepts the muzzle just as readily as he does the halter...after a few lessons.... he has quit trying to eat it when it goes over his mouth. he stands well for removal...also took a few lessons... but he is good now.  He can no longer bite other horses being led beside him...which makes for a much easier time of getting where I need to go.
Cody still spends a lot of time trying to chew the muzzle so there is still a lot of head tossing and trying to get his mouth on the ground and he is still trying to get a  hold on the lead rope....the good thing though is he can't get a hold of me....doesn't stop him from trying . After he gets in trouble a few times he will pay attention and then he settles in and is easy to deal with. If any of you have suggestions on a different way to deal with this colt please share them.

Sunday Challenge "Fabric"

This week the challenge is Fabric...interesting...good one Ed. I tried out my macro ....it doesn't always work with my poor little beat up camera:(
My Welcome Wall Hanging...not sure what that fabric is. A Fleece Eagle Blanket keeps me warm when I'm curled up on the couch. A close up of a Butterfly on the Quilt my Mom made me.
And  a Hooked( Rug) Wall Hanging also made by my Mom.

Hey guys I started a new Web site for my business go check it out and see what you think at

It is not even close to being finished but it's a start. I will be going in to town on Mon. to add stuff and learn how to do it. My other friend Shirley ( Town Shirley) is the web builder so her and I spent a few hours yesterday getting it set up and on it's way. I'm so excited....I think that will probably only last until the first time I try to do it on my own....as most of you know I have a very uneasy relationship with my computer. I can't wait to have a catalogue of plants and gifts from the store.

Chuckle For The Day (Real Or Fake)

I couldn't get this video where I wanted it so it will have to stay where it is.When I saw this video I have to say it made me laugh....I guess shit...no pun intended happens when you  are ..to put it nicely...not nice.It aso made me think though....cause of the title...was it revenge or is he crazy as wife states? The things people put out there never ceases to amaze me..although I have to wonder if that was real or just made for the few moments of fame????? Whatever if it's real I'm betting the wife never leaves her computer accessible again.

Sunday Challenge "Big Sky"

I liked this challenge Big Sky, we had to use the rule of thirds...made it a bit more challenging. I didn't get far from home so I tried to work with something I see every day. I caught this same shot at different times of the day and weather conditions and also portions, I hope I changed it up enough so as not to be too boring.
This is in the wee hours of the morning ...just starting to get light.










Well that's it for me. We have had no beautiful sunrises or sets for a very long time...just bits of color here and there. I'm grateful anyhow because when there are no clouds I see this every morning on my way to turn on the coffee. Sunday Challenge " Old Barns"

This week is a good one, I like old barns, there are a few right around home but the sun was shining it was so nice I loaded up the dogs and went for a tour to see what we could find. I knew there were some not to far away and so this is what I came up with. This one is right across the highway from us.



This one is about a 1/2 Mile up the road.



I thought I would start the next pics with this. If these guys don't do something with this barn soon ....they will be the No Barn Ranch. This barn has been declining slowly but surely over the years. It is quite old.... it will be a shame if it falls down.











Well guys that's it for me.....I'm sorry if I bored you with my barns...I went just a little barn crazy. Anyhow I'm outta here. I will be checking you all out. I'm thinking there is going to be some cool barn shots out there.
