It took me a long time to do this post, good thing because when I saw the video I was so angry that had I posted at the time I would have looked ( sounded) like a total fool. I may still.  You will have to watch the video and read what I wrote below to decide that for yourself.



To make things clear I am not judging whether or not there should be Wild Horse Management. I am openly and with disgust judging the methods displayed in this video. I also have to admit that I don't know much about the laws regarding the Wild Horses. I don't live in those areas where they may affect my life so I am somewhat neutral with an opinion about that.. however I believe there is an absolute right way and a so wrong way to go about achieving some kind of management program. What I saw in this video makes me sick. Here I will address the bastards in this video as if they might actually see this. You people are lower than pond scum and so to the people that would allow you to behave in such  a brutal.....cruel....and sadistic manner. I am not in the habit of wishing bad things on people but I truly hope Karma comes back to bite your sorry asses. If that is what you have come up with as a management program you really need to start over and come up with a better solution. I find it very difficult to understand why these horses are not being treated as  a treasured part of your countries history. I mean really if not for the horse all of your forefathers would still be trying(hoofing it) to make it out west. This video is just another sad reminder that the human race really hasn't evolved nearly as much as we would like to believe. We are probably the most savage species on the planet.It's not just the Wild Horses it is the Baby Seals - The Dolphins - Whales and People... on and on it goes. I don't know when the vast majority started turning a blind eye but I surely believe it is this that is hugely responsible for how callous and cold the human race has become. OK that's it I just had to get that said, also I want it to be understood that I don't believe the whole human race sucks but I'm starting to worry that the ones that don't are becoming a minority.On a brighter note...while checking out some blogs the other day I landed on the Pioneer Woman ( haven't been there for awhile) Lo and Behold I came across a post by The Marlboro Man( In case you didn't know the Husband) it was about Wild Horses. This is something I did not know about and so I cannot say how many Ranchers do this but for every evil maybe there is a good. These guys care for  Wild Horses 500 - at times 3200. Now I have to say they get paid for it but who cares why.....actually I believe he said yes they get paid but he also said it's fun. I think I might have also heard a whisper of pride in what they do....like maybe they are proud to be able to preserve some of their heritage. Kudos to you and any others like you...maybe there will be some Wild Horses around for the Grandkids and Great Grandkids to see and hear stories about.

Sunday Challenge ' One Tree"

Well done Ed, this was really hard ....or at least you had me scrambling until I went in and saw your pic in Sunday Stills. I thought I had to get one tree with no others in the shot....turned out to be near impossible so I thought I would cheat and get tree pieces on their own.



And this little gem, as it turned out after uploading it I see there are some trees in the background...



And then I thought hmmmm how can I get one tree by itself ....and so I came up with this


Well....it is a tree......by itself. OK I know not really in the spirit of the challenge....so I went to Sunday Stills saw Ed's pic and went ahhh Ok I can do this and so without further ado I came up with this. One tree by itself.






Well that's it for me and that's as good as it gets without leaving the property. Now I wish I had taken those pics of the odd (and alone) trees I've seen while out riding.....20/20.Well Ed I have to say it was a good tough challenge....and I fail...oh well next time. I could bite my tongue because when Shirley said what the challenge was I said oh that's an easy one......How wrong can ya be....I guess my choices speak volumes. Well I'm off to see what you all came up with.

Sunday Challenge " Best Of 2012 Or Favorites"

The challenge -  Best Of 2012 the challenge really was  sitting here long enough to find the best.Since my shots are consistently just Ok I opted for not the best but some of my favorites.
This one was from our challenge Reflections.



This is Moxie Rolling ...she kinda looks like a not so alive horse....you should have seen her when she got up and took off bucking and farting and kicking up a storm.



Even though he's dirty and not so pretty looking in this pic...it is one of my favorites...as this was one of his last photos. He looked so full of life and those ears.

Had to throw in one Sunrise.



And not to be left out - Kali who comes with me almost everywhere.


And last but certainly not least  - Sage who is always ready to work or play.

Sunday Challenge " Holiday Lights And Decorations"

This years festivities have not been overly festive for me. I started decorating my tree( which normally I love to do) then it annoyed me and I took it down. I was going to go down the road and take pics of  a house that has the ugliest most garish decorations and talk about going overboard!!!!i never got there but I think I will add it to this post later in the day, so come back and see it I am not just being hum bug. Anyhow to save the day and give me something for this challenge Shirley and Ted ( Designed by Diamond Lazy H) or otherwise known as( Ride A Good Horse )stopped by to bring me a Christmas present....and this is what it is.

A New Face

Well we have a new addition to the farm...one that we really don't need.....but my Farrier and his lady came to do feet and proceeded to tell me about this guy.







The people that had him are very nice but not experienced with youngsters so he needed to find a new home. It is not intended that he stay here forever....but he does need to grow and fill out before he moves on. For anyone interested he is very nice to work with quite smart and he is going to be a good size when he finishes out ( 15. 2 maybe 3) he was born Ap. 11, 2012. Anyhow he has only been here for a few days....he's figured out the barn is a good place to be......considering it hasn't stopped snowing since he got here. So now I guess we see how well he settles in.
 Stay warm and dry guys...where ever you are....cause we are neither here.

Sunday Challenge " Texture"

Wow it's been awhile, so this week our challenge is Texture, I worked pretty hard to get these pics ...as I had a very un-cooperative model. It was almost funny.....I say almost...because it was not very pleasant out and my camera was getting wet. Everytime I thought I had a good shot my model would turn away, if I lowered the camera a bit she would turn back and stick her nose right up to my face....so much for a close up....after many attempts I finally had to go with a few that weren't toooooo terrible!!!







Sorry for this pic but it just won't let me change the size...it either has to be small or huge....Whatever......






















Well that's it for me...I have to get out of here before my head explodes....way to many glitches to get much enjoyment from doing this...but hey it is what it is I'll take what I can get......cause as we all know it can always be worse.Check you all out later.

Sunday Challenge " Yellow"

Hey Ed happy you're back...not that there was anything wrong with the people that stepped in while you were gone....but they just weren't you. Anyhow on with the challenge, sorry I didn't come up with anything more interesting but well I'm just not as good as the rest of you....really there is nothing around that isn't drab and wintery.
It's yellowish.....isn't it???
