Now What

Well I have been trying to post... but for some reason none of my pictures will upload, everytime I pick the pic I want and ask it to open it just says upload failed....any suggestions....anyone.

I am so sick of getting up to this -what seems like every morning...it isn't but it might as well be....how depressing.

I'm having a tough time going from the ugly gray- what seems like continuous snow- to this is what's coming ...(not soon enough)

My plants are coming over the next two days and I am so not ready, they are coming earlier than I had planned so the stove isn't going ...everything isn't all cleaned out and ready....well I guess I can't blame winter on that but I'm having a really hard time getting into go mode. Does it sound like I'm whining....well that would be cause I am!!!!

A Perfect Day To Rant

Have you ever ordered something from the Internet and that little person in your head .....you know the one with the little ball peen hammer smacking you in the back of the head over and over saying don't do it ....don't do it....but you do it anyhow....well I 've just had that experience. I very rarely order anything from the Internet and I do mean rarely. I was shopping around for a knee brace and decided I had heard enough good things about this one ( Professional Choice - Miracle Knee Support- Miracle my ass) Now before I start ranting away in full swing, I will have to accept a certain amount of blame for this whole fiasco. I was trying to find this Knee brace ( close to home) without much success, my patience had about run out so I decided to order it from the States. A few sites offered it for sale with comparitive pricing so I went ahead and ordered it. The brace cost 40.00 then add 35.00 for shipping and handling = 75.00 but it doesn't end there. The company graciously sent me a tracking number so something else I never do I tracked it, this is what my package looked like and weighs in at a whole 2 lbs.

      I think UPS might have some issues and what does UPS stand for anyhow, Up poop shoot    I am trying really hard to not be mean but really follow this ....if you can. This is the tracking info for package ...as given, package starts out

So now the package is 30 mins away to be delivered by days end well that came and went ...no package, now it's Tues afternoon and guess what package finally arrives.the guy says C.O.D and I'm biting my lip not to say anything add another 24.10 for Import Fee ...which I knew nothing about so now this knee brace is worth 99.10. I don't care anymore because my knee really hurts and I can't wait to get this miracle knee brace out of the box and on my knee...well guess what...... can you guess the thing is as useless as a tit on a log. After all that hassle and this stupid little box traveling all over the country it is of no use to me. Now that 99.10 ( which I don't have to waste) is bugging me a bunch....and so is UPS. Moral of the story is - I will never be ordering anything from anywhere that will be getting delivered by UPS and chances of me ordering anything from anywhere without being able to try it first are slim to none. Just as an afterthought the head guy of UPS should go on that show Undercover Boss and see what they really do there.

Spring?????

This would have been a Wordless Wednesday but who could not say anything when this is what they could be looking at? Who are these people that keep saying Spring is here or coming....cause it sure ain't here!!!!It rained all last night and made quite a mess with about an inch of water on top of the snow and just cold enough to be semi freezing....yuk by the way...try walking across that without landing on your ass...I believe that's where the term pussy footing may have come from .....just a thought. Then this morning more rain ...slogging around to get the chores done and then .....the sky is falling....enough  I say ......Oh how I hate February...to me this is the worst (ugliest) month out of the year. For you snow lovers enjoy....no I don't think snow is pretty...maybe the first snowfall of the year after that I spend all winter wondering why I don't live in a more tropical type setting.

                                                                                 

                                                                                

        So how pretty is that......( Not)!!!!!  The good news is that my plants will be here in a few more weeks and once I'm nicely tucked away in the Greenhouse....who cares what's going on outside because I'll have this to look at instead, then it will be  bye bye ugly Feb.

At Last At Last!!!!

What's this you say..... a big empty hole....well not for long.

It has been a long time coming. We finally got a new stove...not too fancy but just fancy enough ...it has a few features I think I will enjoy...will it help my culinary skills....not!!! well maybe it will because now it will actually cook things properly...I might even get a little adventurous and try some new recipes... well maybe.....now that I know I can control my stove.....yippee. You know what they say simple things please simple minds.

     Can anybody tell me the trick to getting the stupid tag off the oven door???? There must be a logical  way to do it............

Birthday Girl

Today is Sage's Birthday. She is eight.

At one time I had lofty plans for Sage...she was going to be the next Super dog...or a great Sheep dog....or an amazing agility dog...however due to an injury those plans were thwarted. It seemed that the injury was going to be the end of her....but she is a fighter, it was slow going but in time she recovered. ( Mostly) 

Even though Sage is unable to do a lot of things....she can't ride with me anymore...she'll never herd sheep and she'll never do agility she has managed to carve out a lifestyle that keeps her mind and body active and  alert. Her need to herd makes my heart skip a beat from time to time, however I let it go because I think she has to do it to stay happy and healthy.

Would Sage have ever achieved my goals...who knows....I don't waste to much time on the what ifs. She will never get to be the next Super dog...... but what I do know is Sage is my Super dog, a wonderful companion, she loves me and she puts a smile on my face everyday.

Time Marches On

I lead a pretty boring existence and I have to say for the most part I like it that way. I have my routine and I like things to stay the same ....however every now and again I get a little flutter of......? after all time is running away from me. It seems like just a short time ago these were new things happening ( They may  not  be new anymore....but they are still ongoing)

Kali was a gift from Shirley ( Ride A Good Horse) for my Birthday...will be two yrs ago....already... in the Spring. She has been a gift that just keeps on giving.

Shirley and Sparkle ( Weanling) This is where Shirley breaks my arm and talks me into thinking it would be a good idea for me to take her home.....the horse!!!

Shirley kisses her baby good-bye ....just kidding about the arm breaking...she didn't have to work to hard at convincing me that it was a good idea.

Here we are at the end of 2011 Kali and Jazz are almost grown and going to need to do stuff in the coming year.A few fun things happened this year. I got to do things with Shirley ( Ride A Good Horse) We didn't get to ride but we did other things. We went to the Supreme in Red Deer where I got to meet Sherry ( Fern Valley Appaloosas) and see Crystal again from (Ranch Riding) we also went to the Dog Trials and I went to the Auction that they did. That's the most stuff I've done in a long time. I guess I will have to make a New Years resolution (s) More riding, more fun, more friend things. One thing I can do now though is wish everyone that reads this blog.

Experimenting

Well I'm fooling around with my Christmas present. Yes I got a new camera....now the problem is I don't know how to use it. This morning I thought I would go out and try the action shot mode ( Sports) I like the camera and if I ever get it figured out I may even get some good pics. Something to get used to is the size of the thing...I'm used to slipping my other camera in my pocket, this one bounces around and gets in the way....probably not the one to take to do chores with but that's when the critters run around and make for some interesting shots. So a few things I have found is this camera has very little zoom capabilities,  if the subject is right there that doesn't matter much though. I did find that it will take that action shot and doesn't get fuzzy if you move along with the subject. So here's Jazz coming.

I followed along with her as she went up in the air...you can't really tell but she does have all four feet off the ground....( not quite Beamerish)but almost.

Then she spun around and did a few circles

And then she wound down to a standstill....I'm sure she was thinking she deserved a breather.

So a few things I found out, my old camera would not have taken these pics without either being fuzzy or having missed it altogether, the new camera not as distinct and crisp as I would like....guessing that's the operator and not the camera. I'm thinking that it would be a good idea to go find some courses that teach photography ....or the basics of cameras...if there is such a course.

I didn't get a chance to bring this any closer because I needed to take the shot fast and I had to give the dogs heck for harassing the horse. All in all I think I will eventually get to liking and hopefully taking some decent shots with it.
