Running for Breakfast

I almost was able to get a good video....I did say almost. Sometimes these critters take their time following me, but Murphy's Law, just because I'm trying to set up to get a video they practically run me over.

Pig Ear Heaven

All the dogs got a pig ear and a new ball for Christmas, they all thought they had died and gone to heaven. Look at the black dog(Shadow) his eye is on that pig ear and he is not looking anywhere but there.
Sage my dainty little girl, couldn't quite figure out which was the best approach. I had a video for you of the dogs going a little bonkers for their new balls but it won't upload so I guess this is all you get.

The Lights Before Christmas

These are some of the lights displayed in Cranbrook's downtown Park. The rest are from Candy Cane Lane.

It amazes me the work people go to to have the light show they put on. Also the whole cul de sac participation. As much as I find all the decorations amazing I also think it's a bit over the top as well. The yard that held this horse and carriage would have been very pretty except that they didn't know when to quit.

Some of the decorations are so cute, I'm not sure what they have to do with Christmas but they are cute. What does a demolition( or race car) have to do with Christmas. Am I missing something? OK the Bear and Penquins ....... cute.

For those of you that may not go on your computers on Christmas day. I wish you a wonderful day, with your family and friends. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Sunday Challenge " Holiday Lights and Decorations.

Sorry guys I'm not really into this one. I didn't get a chance to go hunting for nice lights and what not, then I thought maybe I would go get some shots of the overwhelmingly ugly displays of garishness that seem to abound this year. I have decided to just go with some of my ornaments and my tree. This year I went with a color theme, I say I'm going to do that every year but something clicks and I go with everything I've got and then some. I managed to stick to my red, white and silver theme. you may see a little flash of gold here and there but mostly it is what I planned. It looks a little sparse but I guess that kind of goes with my Christmas spirit this year.So these are some of the ornaments I enjoy putting on the tree. It was tough to stick to the color because some of my oldest and dearest orn. are not the right color so in the boxes they stayed. Next year I'm going back to it all goes on the tree......much more fun that way.

At the start of the trimming. I won't even show you how this show gets going. I know Dave is always happy to be absent for the tree trimming especially the lights. Now that we have a smaller tree I am quite able to do it myself.

Well fellow bloggers that is it for me. As much as my post is lacking I really do look forward to seeing all of your efforts. Have a really nice Sunday.

Visitor In The Night

While we were watching a movie on Fri .night we heard a fairley loud bang out on the porch. Dave decided to investigate, out the side door he went, he didn't go far when I heard him shout hey! get out of here. He stood by the door for a bit and said come and look at this

This Buck had been standing pretty much right outside our Living room window munching away on my old dead hanging baskets. When Dave shouted at him he didn't go far. He stepped off the porch and just stayed there. When my suprise wore off I jumped into action, running all over the house looking for my camera. I thought for sure he would have taken that opportunity to slip away into the night. I'm wondering if he thought he stayed really still we wouldn't know he was there. I was standing about 5 feet away from him. He didn't even bat an eye when the flash went off a half dozen times .....right in his face.

This is not the first time I've heard things out on the porch at night, I used to think it was the cats. I don't think I will ever be brave enough to open the door and step out like Dave might not always be something so friendly????? After kind of posing for me, he turned around and walked across the yard and through the carport like it was his own.

Snow Blankets and Frosting

With the temps rising so comes new snow. I'm not sure if I prefer the cold and no snow or warmer temps and snow. Anyhow this was my view this morning when I went to do chores.
Fortunately I only feed two horses with the wheel barrow and I don't have far to push it.So this morning all the horses had Snow Blankets and Frosting. None of them looked overly impressed......who could blame them, I was crabby just having to go outside.

I like the look on Skooks face, hey man got any heat in that thing c'mon turn it on c'mon.

Wow Technology

This is what I spent all day Sat. trying to post for the Sunday Challenge. For whatever reason it just would not upload. I know it is kind of a cheat....but it is so worth it. Consider this my Christmas gift to you. No I'm not stealing it, it is out there for the whole world to see I'm just sharing it with you. Anyhow the whole point was Wow now that's what I call Technology.

Sunday Challenge "Technology"

Well after many failed attempts and deleting my post I have decided to pass on this challenge. It is glaringly apparent to me that Technology and I do not agree. I hope you all have a great day.I will check out everyone else's stuff after chores. I would rather look at my Mtn anyhow. Hey I guess that's technology isn't it....without the camera you couldn't see my Mtn. Weak I know. I had a real treat for you guys. I am so disappointed it didn't work out. Oh well I need to get outside. Later.

Brotherly Love

Mmmmm. Must be nice, bask in the sun and watch the world go by. ( Don't I wish)

They don't look like they are watching anything but they were until I stepped in front of them with a camera. I'm amazed they posed so nicely for me.

Sunday Challenge "Pets"

Sorry guys I had a real tough time with this one. When I think of pets I think of things like Hamsters or anything little and furry like that. Birds....whatever.I have never thought of my animal friends as pets. As an example the two dogs in this pic were intended to be pack Dogs with Jobs and indeed the black one was until he was injured, he still goes to the Mtns. with Dave and he still has a job....bear alarm. Tucker the yellow lab was injured quite young and will never be a pack dog....however he is turning out to be a very good watch dog. So even though they look like pets I don't see them that way.
At the time these shots were taken these two look like pets, although they don't belong to me..... again I don't think of them as pets, they are very efficient working dogs when called upon.
For those of you that may not know her yet, this is my dog Sage. She is so far removed from the term pet. She is my constant companion, she does a lot of my leg work when it comes to the horses. I'm not sure I would call her a guard dog....she's a bit of a chicken but not much gets by her , she certainly announces the presence of others.

Mikey and George, they are barn cats their job is to keep the vermin away and they do it pretty well. They only come to me and again I don't think of them as pets. I guess the majority of the human race would call these animals pets. If you ask some people that have animals I think a whole lot of them would tell you they are not pets but something much bigger and important than that. The term pet makes me think of ownership, I don't believe we own our animals I think that they just let us believe call me crazy but I don't have any pets. Well fellow bloggers that's my soapbox for the week I look forward to your definitions of "Pets"

Sunday Challenge "The Letter T"

I love my Truck and Trailer, it gives me more opportunity to check out new Trails.
And of course blue, life without this Tractor would be unbearable. Ooooh just the thought of having to switch back to small squares makes my back throb. Yay Blue.
Poor Tucker missing his owner
Not to be left out Sage with her Toy
Although this isn't "T " what it does do is save me a lot of Time.
Well that's it for my submissions, I am going to add some more but I was not the one behind the camera on theses shots. I asked Dave to take some from where he is working, they are interesting and T's. You might want to go get a cup of coffee this post kinda got long.
This is a shot of a Timber Tunnel, it is scary looking in there.

A little cold on the hiney. Brrrrrr I would be holding it as long as possible.
And last, something I find rather sad and forlorn. An old mining Town all boarded up and abandoned, such a shame. People lived , loved, had families, it used to be a thriving community. It makes you wonder where they all went and how different their lives might be if they still had a town there. Oh well give my head a shake ..........a little off Topic or what. Well folks that is it for me. Catch you on Sunday to see what you all came up with.
